Legends' Legacy precon upgrade guide
Six of the 39 lands in Legends' Legacy can't make a colour, in a deck that finds WW on turn three in 54.8% of games on the play.
Dihada, Binder of Wills is a five-loyalty planeswalker, and her minus three keeps only the legendary cards from the top four of your library. 45 of the 99 cards that aren't her qualify: all 28 creatures, ten artifacts, an enchantment, two sorceries and four lands. The plan that follows from that is already in the box. The mana under it is the part I'd change.
Five cards want WW and six want BB, across three colours, and the box meets that with 19 white sources, 22 black and 21 red, counting Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse for every colour they can fetch. Eight of the lands always enter tapped, and six more tap for colourless and nothing else. The numbers come from resolving the shipped decklist against the site's own hypergeometric calculator, and prices below are the cheapest released printing of each card.

100 cards, 38 lands (16 basic), 28 creatures, average mana value 3.44. Mana sources: 24 white, 26 black, 25 red.
No Game Changers and no mass land denial, so it sets no bracket floor. How brackets work →
What are the best Legends' Legacy upgrades?
Prices were checked on 8 October 2026, and the cheapest printing of a card can be a promo.
- Godless Shrine, Sacred Foundry, Sulfurous Springs and Isolated Chapel, $19.61 for the four. Each makes two colours and can enter untapped. They replace Bojuka Bog and three lands that make only colourless mana.
- Orzhov, Boros and Rakdos Signets, $1.22 together. Each fixes a pair of colours for a net mana, and together they cover all three pairs.
- Relic of Legends, $0.80. It taps for any colour, and tapping a legendary creature makes a second mana of any colour. The deck has 28 of those.
- Vindicate at $0.33 and Swords to Plowshares at $0.81. Spot removal goes from five pieces to six, and one of them hits any permanent.
- The Seriema, $1.02. When it enters it fetches any legendary creature from the library, and up to 28 are in there to choose from.
All eleven come to $23.79. The cuts are further down. The lands come first, since they're most of the money and most of the argument.
Six lands that make no colour
Geier Reach Sanitarium, Mikokoro, Center of the Sea, Mobilized District, Reliquary Tower, Shivan Gorge and Tyrite Sanctum all tap for {C} and nothing else. Together with the eight lands that always enter tapped, that's 14 of 39 lands that either arrive late or can't pay for a coloured pip. White has 19 sources, so WW by turn three arrives 54.8% of the time on the play. Black's BB is at 63.9%, and red's RR on turn four (Neheb and Etali, Primal Storm) is at 67.3%.
Four of the six go, and each was cut for its own reason. Mikokoro, Center of the Sea pays {2} to give every player a card, so each opponent draws one for every one I do. Geier Reach Sanitarium loots every player instead. Reliquary Tower lifts the maximum hand size, which only matters when I'm holding eight cards. Shivan Gorge spends {2}{R} to ping each opponent once, and that slot goes to a third Signet.
Mobilized District and Tyrite Sanctum stay because they do work for this plan. The District becomes a 3/3 vigilance creature for {4} minus {1} per legendary creature and planeswalker I control, so with Dihada and two legendary creatures out it costs {1}. The Sanctum turns a legendary creature into a God, adds a +1/+1 counter, and later pays {4} and itself to leave an indestructible counter on a God. Two colourless lands is a price I'm willing to pay for those.
The four new lands are two shocklands, a painland and a checkland. Godless Shrine and Sacred Foundry are shocklands and ask for 2 life to enter untapped. Sulfurous Springs pings me for 1 each time it makes a colour, and Isolated Chapel enters untapped if I control a Plains or a Swamp. Springs and Blood Crypt do the same job for black and red, and I took the $0.45 card over the $9.43 one. Both shocklands, and Blood Crypt too, are reprinted in Star Trek on 13 November 2026, so the $18.93 for the two I picked may fall.
With the Signets and Relic of Legends in, the totals move to 26 black sources, 25 red and 24 white, and the land count settles at 38 against ramp that rises from 6 to 7. WW by turn three goes from 54.8% to 69.4%, BB from 63.9% to 74.2% and RR on turn four from 67.3% to 77.7%. The white figure undersells it a little, because The Seriema adds a sixth spell that asks for WW. The seven always-tapped lands that remain all make two or three colours, so the Temples and the bouncelands stay.
Forty-one legends, and what the minus three loses
The upgraded list has 41 legendary cards, down from 45. Five leave (Mikokoro, Center of the Sea, Geier Reach Sanitarium, Shivan Gorge, Bontu's Monument and Sword of the Chosen) and The Seriema arrives. Off a full 99-card library the minus three finds at least one legend 88.7% of the time instead of 91.6%, and averages 1.66 legendary cards where the box averaged 1.82. Every card it doesn't take becomes a Treasure, so the average reveal also pays out 2.34 of them.
That's a real cost and I'm taking it, because none of the five was doing a job a legend should be paid for. The same minus three sits on a planeswalker whose plus two gives one legendary creature vigilance, lifelink and indestructible until my next turn. Nothing in that plan needs a land that gives the table cards.
Two of the legends are sorceries, and Urza's Ruinous Blast is the one that makes the deck's shape pay. It exiles every nonland permanent that isn't legendary. All 28 creatures stay, and Dihada alone is enough to cast it. The cost is on my side of the table as well, since Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, the rocks I've just added and every nonlegendary token go with the rest. I'd cast it after spending the turn's mana.
The equipment and the big legends that stay
A long list of cards looks cuttable in this deck, and a good share of it is wrong. Tenza, Godo's Maul, Hero's Blade and Blackblade Reforged look like single-creature equipment in a deck of 28 creatures. In this deck the creatures are all legendary, though. Tenza costs {1} to equip and gives a legend +3/+3. Hero's Blade attaches itself for free whenever a legendary creature enters, which is every creature I cast. Blackblade Reforged equips a legend for {3} and adds +1/+1 for each land I control.
The five- and six-drops get the same treatment. Arvad the Cursed has deathtouch and lifelink and gives every other legendary creature +2/+2, so it's an anthem as much as a body. Etali, Primal Storm exiles the top card of every library when it attacks and lets me cast any of them free. Heroes' Podium gives each legendary creature +1/+1 for every other legendary creature, and The Circle of Loyalty makes a Knight whenever I cast a legendary spell, and the upgraded list has forty of them besides Dihada herself.
The six spells that make room
- Fellwar Stone makes only the colours that an opponent's land could produce, and it can't make colourless. In a three-colour deck that wants specific pips, those colours are other people's choices.
- Hedron Archive is four mana for {C}{C}, and its draw-two costs the card itself.
- Honor-Worn Shaku taps for {C}, and untapping it means tapping a legendary permanent, usually a creature I'd rather attack with. Relic of Legends does the same trick and makes a colour.
- Bontu's Monument discounts black creature spells, and nine of the 28 creatures are black. It drains 1 on every creature spell, but a three-mana artifact that fixes nothing is the wrong job for a deck that can't yet cast its black cards on time.
- Generous Gift destroys any permanent and hands its controller a 3/3 Elephant. Vindicate does the same for the same mana value with no Elephant, at the cost of being a sorcery.
- Sword of the Chosen taps to give a legendary creature +2/+2 for a turn. Day of Destiny and Arvad the Cursed already give all of them +2/+2 for as long as they stay out.
What I left on the shelf
Mox Amber is the best fixing card I can name for this list, at $86.40, and it's covered in the FAQ. Two white cards are off the list because they're Game Changers, whatever they cost: Smothering Tithe at $55.60 and Teferi's Protection at $34.59, and either one would set the bracket floor at 3, where the box sits at 1. Gimli of the Glittering Caves at $14.25 grows whenever another legendary creature enters, and Flowering of the White Tree at $8.37 is another legendary-creature anthem for the two mana I'd rather spend on mana. Both sit behind the cheap fixing in the buying order.

FAQ
What does Dihada's minus three find in this deck?
It reveals the top four cards, puts every legendary card among them into your hand and sends the rest to the graveyard, with a Treasure for each card sent there. In the upgraded list 41 of the 99 cards are legendary, so a reveal off a full library finds at least one 88.7% of the time and at least two 55.1% of the time. It averages 1.66 legendary cards and 2.34 Treasures. The box's 45 legendary cards gave 91.6%, 61.9% and 1.82, and the small drop is the price of the swaps.
Does Urza's Ruinous Blast exile my own board?
Part of it. The Blast exiles every nonland permanent that isn't legendary, so all 28 creatures and Dihada stay. Nonlegendary tokens and artifacts go, which means Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Commander's Sphere, Relic of Legends, the three Signets and Hero's Blade. Cast it after you've spent the mana those rocks make. Dihada alone satisfies the legendary sorcery casting restriction.
Which of my legendary creatures survive Kaya's Wrath?
Tajic and Zetalpa are indestructible as printed. Dihada's plus two gives one more legendary creature indestructible until your next turn, and Tyrite Sanctum can leave an indestructible counter on a creature it has turned into a God, but it needs two separate turns to do that. Everything else dies, and you gain life equal to the number that did. Garna, cast with flash afterwards, returns the creature cards that hit the graveyard that turn, and Primevals' Glorious Rebirth returns every legendary permanent card there.
How much do the eleven swaps cost?
$23.79 at the cheapest released printing of each card, checked 8 October 2026. Four lands account for $19.61 of it, the three Signets are $1.22 together, and none of the eleven is a Game Changer, so the bracket floor stays at 1.
Does Isolated Chapel work with this deck's basics?
Yes. It enters untapped if you control a Plains or a Swamp, and the deck has six Plains and five Swamps. Godless Shrine is both types, Sacred Foundry is a Mountain Plains and Smoldering Marsh is a Swamp Mountain, so 14 lands switch the Chapel on.
Is Mox Amber worth $86.40 in a Dihada deck?
It's the best mana card I left out, and the price is the reason. Once Dihada is on the battlefield it taps for red, white or black, and each legendary creature after her adds its colours. It makes no mana before that, and the cheapest legend in the box costs two. The price is 3.6 times the whole eleven-swap bill, and the Signets and Relic of Legends already supply fixing. Prices move, so check it before you buy.
