Enduring Enchantments precon upgrade guide
Forty-three of this box’s 63 nonland cards are enchantments, and both of its creature sweepers leave exactly those standing. Three of the five cards that draw on every enchantment you cast aren’t enchantments, so they go with everything else.
Anikthea, Hand of Erebos gives every other enchantment creature menace, and each time she enters or attacks she exiles a non-Aura enchantment card from your graveyard and makes a 3/3 Zombie copy of it. The graveyard is a big part of her plan. Sagas end up there by design, and so does anything the table kills.
The box builds that plan well and then leaves three gaps. Its two wipes catch eleven of its own creatures. Two lands need a Swamp the deck rarely has out, and Path to Exile is the only answer here that costs less than three mana. Ten swaps fix the second and third, for $31.86 at the cheapest released printing of each card as of October 2026 (sometimes a promo). The first is a matter of when you cast the sweepers, and the page gets to it next.

100 cards, 37 lands (19 basic), 29 creatures, average mana value 3.42. Mana sources: 22 white, 19 black, 24 green.

What are the best Enduring Enchantments upgrades?
Ordered by what each one changes about how the deck plays, not by price. The five lands are $18.56 of the $31.86, and the other five cards cost $13.30 between them.
- Hallowed Haunting ($8.04): every enchantment spell you cast makes a Spirit Cleric whose power and toughness equal the number of Spirits you control, and at seven enchantments your whole team flies. It is the one payoff in the list that turns the 42 enchantments into a board.
- Sterling Grove ($4.06): two mana to trigger every cast engine, shroud for the rest of your enchantments, and a sacrifice that puts any enchantment in your library on top.
- Swords to Plowshares ($0.81), Mythos of Nethroi ($0.28) and Banishing Light ($0.11): $1.20 for three answers, two of them instants and the third an enchantment spell, so it also triggers every cast engine.
- Overgrown Tomb ($8.75) and Godless Shrine ($8.70): untapped for 2 life, and both count as Swamps.
- Woodland Cemetery ($0.62), Sunpetal Grove ($0.26) and Isolated Chapel ($0.23): $1.11 for three duals that enter untapped while you control a matching basic land type.
Ten cards come out. That list is further down.
Two sweepers, and eleven creatures they would take
Extinguish All Hope destroys all nonenchantment creatures. Cacophony Unleashed does the same when you cast it, and becomes a 6/6 God with menace and deathtouch until end of turn each time an enchantment arrives. Both belong in this deck. Both also have a victim list on your side, and it is longer than it looks.
Eleven of the 28 creature cards aren’t enchantments: Narci, Ondu Spiritdancer, Composer of Spring, Archon of Sun's Grace, Mesa Enchantress, Starfield Mystic, Herald of the Pantheon, Setessan Champion, Verduran Enchantress, Nessian Wanderer and Satyr Enchanter. Mesa Enchantress, Verduran Enchantress and Satyr Enchanter are three of the five cards that draw when you cast an enchantment spell. The other two, Sythis and Enchantress's Presence, are enchantments themselves and stay. Starfield Mystic and Herald of the Pantheon are two of the three that make enchantment spells cost {1} less, and Jukai Naturalist, the third, is an enchantment creature and survives.
Seventeen enchantment creature cards come through untouched, although Heliod and Erebos only count as creatures once your devotion to their colour reaches five. Anikthea comes through too.
I keep both. What changes is the order of the turn. The sweeper is the play you make while the engine creatures are still in your hand, and Courser of Kruphix, Eidolon of Blossoms and Arasta of the Endless Web are the creatures you want on the table when it resolves. Cast the enchantress creatures afterwards and every enchantment spell that follows pays you.
Five Swamps, and two lands that wanted one
Tainted Field and Tainted Wood tap for {C} on their own and for coloured mana only while you control a Swamp. The box runs five Swamps, and nothing else in the 99 has the type unless Dryad of the Ilysian Grove is out, which turns every land into every basic type. Nine cards deep, which is turn three on the play, you are holding a Swamp 39% of the time. The rest of the time those two lands are colourless in a deck whose spells ask for {W}{W}, {G}{G} and {B}{B}.
Both go, with Krosan Verge, which enters tapped, makes {C} and costs {2} and itself to fetch a Forest and a Plains tapped, and with Temple of Malady and Temple of Silence. Godless Shrine and Overgrown Tomb are Swamps, which takes the count to seven and the odds to 50%. They pay 2 life to enter untapped, which is a fair price in a deck with Courser, Sythis and a lifelink creature in Jukai Naturalist.
Woodland Cemetery, Isolated Chapel and Sunpetal Grove each enter untapped while you control one of the basic types they name, and they cost $1.11 between them. Temple of Plenty stays, since G/W is the pair both double-pip problems sit in and a tapped dual that scries still makes both colours. Golgari Rot Farm, Orzhov Basilica and Selesnya Sanctuary stay as well, because a bounce land is two mana, and replaying the land it returns is another landfall trigger for Felidar Retreat, Courser of Kruphix and Khalni Heart Expedition. Sandsteppe Citadel is the only tapped land making all three colours.
This barely moves the colours. Counting only lands, white goes from 18 to 19, green from 20 to 21 and black stays at 16. The chance of having {W}{W} by turn three goes from 61% to 63.9%, and {G}{G} stays at 69.4%. The calculator wants 36 white sources for 90% on that test and no precon swap list gets there. What the lands buy is speed: the ones that always enter tapped go from eight to five.
Temple Garden ($7.15) is the next land I would buy, for the colour pair with both problems. It is also in Star Trek on 13 November, as are the two shocklands above.
Answers that cost less, and a payoff for all those enchantments
The box answers a problem with a long list that mostly waits for your own main phase. Grasp of Fate, Binding the Old Gods, Calix, Battle at the Helvault and The Eldest Reborn are all sorcery speed. Path to Exile is the only answer here that costs less than three mana. The only other one you can use on an opponent’s turn is Cast Out, with flash, at four.
Swords to Plowshares is {W} and exiles any creature at instant speed, at the price of its controller gaining life equal to its power. Mythos of Nethroi is {2}{B} and destroys a creature, or any nonland permanent when {G}{W} was spent to cast it, which a Forest and a Plains pay for. Banishing Light is {2}{W} and exiles a nonland permanent an opponent controls until Banishing Light leaves. It is the pick I like most of the three, for a reason that has nothing to do with the exile. It is an enchantment spell, so it draws with Mesa Enchantress and Sythis, and Ondu Spiritdancer can copy it into a second exile. Cast Out and Grasp of Fate already work that way in the box.
Hallowed Haunting asks for {W}{W} on turn four, and white is already the colour with the lowest double-pip odds in the box (61% by turn three, 63.9% after the swaps). Once it is down, the first Spirit Cleric is 1/1 and the second makes both 2/2. Eidolon of Blossoms is a Spirit as well, so it joins the count. The flying and vigilance at seven enchantments is where the card earns its slot: the box already has the bodies, and only three of its creature cards fly: Archon of Sun's Grace, Demon of Fate's Design and Mindwrack Harpy.
Sterling Grove is the engine’s tutor and its armour. The sacrifice ability draws a card through Narci, puts a counter on Starfield Mystic, and Anikthea can bring it back as a 3/3 Zombie that still has the ability. The shroud stops Calix pointing at your other enchantments, but Sterling Grove doesn’t shroud itself, so Calix can still target it.
Culling Ritual kills your tokens, and four other cuts
Culling Ritual destroys each nonland permanent with mana value 2 or less. Fifteen of the box’s own nonland permanents qualify, among them Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Sythis, Herald of the Pantheon and Starfield Mystic. So does every ordinary token you make, because a token that copies nothing has mana value 0: Sigil of the Empty Throne’s Angels, Archon of Sun's Grace’s Pegasi and Felidar Retreat’s Cats. It refunds {B} or {G} for each, which is real, and it is a poor trade for a deck whose cheap permanents are the engine.
The Mending of Dominaria is the quieter one. Its last chapter returns your lands, then shuffles your graveyard into your library, which removes the enchantments Anikthea and Starfield of Nyx are waiting to bring back. Sandwurm Convergence costs eight for a 5/5 each end step. Nothing else in the box asks for that much except Nyxborn Behemoth, which has a discount. Ghoulish Impetus gives a creature +1/+1 and deathtouch and goads it, and it is the only Aura in the box, so Anikthea can’t copy it. Boon of the Spirit Realm is the closest call: a five-mana anthem that only grows from enchantments that arrive after it. The five-drop slot goes from eight cards to six.
Starfield of Nyx, Doomwake Giant, Ondu Spiritdancer, Sigil of the Empty Throne, Mirari’s Wake and The Eldest Reborn stay in it. Starfield of Nyx returns an enchantment every upkeep and turns the rest into creatures at five. Mirari’s Wake is an anthem that also doubles what your lands make, and no other card in the box does the second.
Three cards I left out on price, one of them a Game Changer. Argothian Enchantress is $65.39. Parallel Lives is $28.56, a token doubler for a deck whose Sigil of the Empty Throne, Archon of Sun's Grace, Felidar Retreat and Omen of the Sun all make tokens. Smothering Tithe is a Game Changer at $55.60, and it would lift the bracket floor from 1 to 3. Idyllic Tutor ($13.07) tutors an enchantment and isn’t one, so I took Sterling Grove, which does that job and also triggers the engines. Utter End ($0.20) was the other candidate for the third answer, and Banishing Light beats it for being an enchantment spell.
What the ten swaps moved
The enchantment count goes from 43 to 42, since four enchantments leave and three arrive. Average mana value falls from 3.61 to 3.42 across the nonland cards. The bracket floor is 1 before and after, and no Game Changer goes in.
Check the mana on your own build
Every figure here comes from resolving the shipped decklist card by card. A three-colour deck full of double pips is where the arithmetic bites, and the land count tool takes an average mana value of 3.42 and says what 37 lands is buying. The Deck Mana Audit does the same for a list you paste in.

FAQ
Can Anikthea copy a Saga, and does the copy run its chapters?
Yes. A Saga is a non-Aura enchantment, and one that has finished its chapters has been sacrificed into your graveyard, which is where Anikthea looks. The token copy enters with a lore counter like any Saga, so chapter I triggers straight away and the rest follow each turn. It keeps the original's mana value too. With Narci, Fable Singer out, the copy's last chapter drains each opponent for that number, which is six for Battle at the Helvault.
Does Mythos of Nethroi kill an enchantment in this deck?
Only if green and white mana both went into it. The card destroys a creature regardless, and any other nonland permanent only if {G}{W} was spent to cast it. Pay the generic {2} with a Forest and a Plains and the black from a Swamp and it hits anything. Pay it with three Swamps and it is a creature spell. A land that makes either colour counts, so Command Tower or Arcane Signet can supply the green or the white.
How much do the ten Enduring Enchantments swaps cost?
$31.86 for all ten at the cheapest released printing of each card, as of October 2026. The two shocklands, Overgrown Tomb at $8.75 and Godless Shrine at $8.70, are $17.45 of that, and both are in Star Trek, out 13 November 2026, so those two prices may fall. The other eight cards cost $14.41 together.
Does Sterling Grove's shroud get in the way of my own cards?
Barely. It gives shroud to your other enchantments, not to itself, and the box has one card that targets an enchantment you control: Calix, Destiny's Hand, whose minus ability can still point at Sterling Grove. The other casualty is Love Song of Night and Day, whose last chapter can't put counters on an enchantment creature. Anikthea and Starfield of Nyx target cards in the graveyard, which shroud doesn't touch.
Is Argothian Enchantress worth $65 in this deck?
It's the best card I left out. It draws whenever you cast an enchantment spell and it has shroud, so a table's spot removal can't pick it off, which Mesa Enchantress and Verduran Enchantress can't say. It isn't an enchantment, though, so Extinguish All Hope takes it along with them. At $65.39 it costs twice the whole swap list, and the ten swaps do more per dollar.
What bracket is the upgraded Enduring Enchantments deck?
Bracket 1 at the floor, the same as the box. Nothing in the 100 cards is a Game Changer and no swap adds one. Smothering Tithe is the enchantment that would, at $55.60, and one Game Changer is enough to lift a list's floor to Bracket 3.
